MEL SHAPCOTT creator of the Akashic Oracle draws on ancient wisdom sourced from deep within. At an early age she began using her sixth sense to comprehend and navigate the world around her, and over time has cultivated this gift as a tool for healing. Through her lifelong battle with depression she gained a first-hand understanding of how to thrive despite the most difficult circumstances.
Her journey towards well-being has compelled her to explore the world around her, as well as the world within. In 2004 she received a Bachelor’s of Fine Art from Temple University in Philadelphia, and since then has received training in many different areas. She recently achieved the honor of being a Priestess Path graduate, having completed ALisa Starkweather’s intensive apprenticeship in women’s leadership, empowerment and spirituality. Her formal Akashic records training with urban priestess Vanessa Codorniu honed her skills as an intuitive, allowing her to easily access the invisible in order to facilitate healing and promote wellness in herself and her clients. Mel is a long-time student of ceremonial artist Mz. imani, who initiated her into the lineage of Alchemical Healers.
Mel strives to live in harmony with the land; she is committed to cultivating food and being in relationship with the plants. She participated in the establishment of her off-grid homestead and is the recipient of a Permaculture Design Certificate.
Mel is the Vice President of Cyberian Frontier, web design, development and hosting company, and has served as project manger for over ten years. She is the founding editor of Wild Woman Rising online magazine and co-creator of ByExample.com.
As an artist, her visionary work provides an outlet for powerful knowledge embedded in genetic and cellular memory. Each image is captured without thought or analysis in a pure stream from the invisible realm.
